Below are some of the testimonials and references that I have been honored to receive in the last year from valued colleagues, media members, clients and readers.

“My community invited Matt to speak about his book “Rings of Kindness,” it was an engaging and thoughtful presentation. Matt did an artful job explaining the origins and importance of his book during our unique period of history. I found Matt to be approachable and knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend him as a speaker and hope to bring him back to our community for a lengthier program.”

If you’re a radio or podcast host seeking a guest to talk about positive and uplifting topics during these turbulent times, Matthew J. Goldberg is a terrific option. Matt is an accomplished author (seven books!), and his latest book, 2022’s Rings of Kindness, is a collection of dozens of short, true stories that shine a spotlight on his belief that we are connected by our acts and words of kindness. Matt is a three-time visitor to our “Philly Pressbox Radio” show over the years, and I can tell you that he is a wonderful guest – well-spoken, witty and personable.

So many books, so little time. I might not have been aware of this sweet book had it not been for the fact that nine people I know contributed stories to the 80+ in this anthology. As the title hints, this is a collection of stories of random and not so random acts of kindness.
I’m not too shy to admit that I both like and might even have a reputation for offering such generosity, but in first beginning this book, I couldn’t recall myself receiving these gifts beyond someone recognizing me as an elder and giving me their seat on a subway or rushing to open a door or lift a heavy box for me. And yet, here’s the magic this book presented:
The more I read, the more stories I remembered…some, at the time, life changing. I started writing a list in the back leaf of the book, and I’m glad I wrote in tiny script, because as remembrances keep flooding in of these acts of kindness, I need the space. This is a book that keeps on giving.

I was fortunate enough to attend a Men’s Club program at Congregation Kol Ami
on March 12th at which Matt Goldberg was the guest author. Matt’s book is “Rings of Kindness.”
Initially, at the program there was a spirited and meaningful discussion about how
Jewish values relate to acts of loving kindness, and people shared their personal
experiences. Then, the focus was on the book itself.
The book is a compilation of many essays written by people who were recipients
of acts of kindness. At the program, some of the writers were present and read
their stories, and Matt himself read some other essays from the book.
I had read the book prior to the gathering. I found the book to be both heartwarming and inspirational.
I’m so grateful that I read it because I feel that it’s universal
message of kindness and thoughtfulness has made me a better person.
I enthusiastically recommend this book as well as any program that features
Matt discussing the greater message that the book teaches us, you won’t be disappointed!

Matt Goldberg's Rings of Kindness presentation was excellent.Matt is very engaging, and the stories he read from his book were well written and interesting. For myself as well as many others that attended, the various stories invoked our own memories that had been long forgotten. I am certain that everyone who attended enjoyed the afternoon, and would have happily continued to listen to the stories as well as to tell our own for another hour.
